Since Pharmacy School, Charlie Stearns has had a passion for helping people understand Diabetes and Cardiovascular health.
He spent time teaching Pharmacology to Physician Assistant students at San Joaquin Valley College. He is a Clinical Pharmacist and spent time as a Diabetes Educator for the Lindsay Diabetes Program, taught at local schools and city programs as well as contributed to a Hospital Board coordinated project in Lindsay, CA.
As a Clinical Pharmacist Dr.Stearns oversees other Diabetes Educators with American Healthcare and developed the scope of teaching in an ongoing Face to Face program. The client group were employees of Tulare and Kings County Schools through their health benefits program. Dr.Stearns continues to help with the School Employee Program with Elite Medical Corporation.
Additionally, he has helped young campers with Diabetes Type 1, at Diabetes Youth Families (DYF) Diabetes Camps in the Sierra Nevada.
Dr.Stearns has been a Visalia Costco Pharmacist since 2000, and also works at Rancho Pharmacy in Exeter, CA.
He is a member of California Coordinating Body for American Diabetes Educators Association helping in Membership Development and Networking.
Personal Life Dr.Stearns was born into a Citrus and Avocado Farming family, going back four generations in California. He married in 1981 and they have one daughter. He enjoys spending time in the Sierras, having worked many summers for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park with Trail Crews and as a Seasonal Backcountry Ranger. Dr. Stearns is also a Professional Ski Instructor at China Peak Ski Resort, east of Fresno, CA and is EMT certified.
